Scaly friends we saw on our way

The Grand Canyon is full of many squamate reptiles (around 30 species). We were focused almost entirely on two of these: The common side-blotched lizard (Uta stansburiana), the common chuckwalla (Sauromalus ater), and the ornate tree lizard (Urosaurus ornatus). In addition to these, we saw the endemic pink rattlesnake (Crotalus oreganus abyssus), a striped whipsnake (Masticophis taeniatus), a ground snake (Sonora semiannulata), many desert spiny lizards (Sceloporus magister), and many western whiptails (Aspidoscelis tigris).
